For this evening seminar, ALBA are fortunate to welcome both Richard Spearman QC who will discuss issues concerning privacy including the confidentiality of information and the tension with free speech and Article 10 ECHR, and Paul Bowen who will address wider aspects of private life and, in particular, the role of Article 8 ECHR as it mediates the relationship between the individual and the State in areas as disparate as end of life decisions, transsexualism, and the right to smoke.
